A Season for Learning

Autumn is an exciting time in our profession. Last month, the American Dental Association’s (ADA) 2017 meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, offered the opportunity to speak with a number of manufacturers about the new digital technology on the market. I am particularly interested in the continued development of 3-dimensional printing technology for dental applications, and several innovative printers were on display at ADA.

This month brings the Greater New York Dental Meeting, an event that I always look forward to because it’s the largest dental meeting in the United States and it’s always great to be in New York around the holidays.

Inside Dentistry is dedicated to keeping pace by bringing you timely, useful articles once again this month. The CE article, “Tooth Whitening,” by Joyce L. Bassett, DDS, FAACD, FAGD, is particularly exceptional. Dr. Bassett presents a very thorough approach to conveying the value of whitening to patients and helping them achieve their esthetic goals through a number of different options. We’re also excited to bring you an article by Mark L. Cannon, DDS, MS, that explores the dental management of young patients with epidermolysis bullosa. Additionally, “Regenerative Endodontics,” by James Baker, DMD; Brooke Blicher, DMD; and Rebekah Lucier Pryles, DMD, takes a deep dive into managing pulpal necrosis in immature permanent teeth.

As always, we welcome your feedback on published articles as well as your suggestions for topics you would like to see covered in the future!
